Important Information for Apple iPhone 3G Pricing

 

The following terms and conditions govern your use of the Apple iPhone 3G on the Rogers network. They supplement and are incorporated into the Rogers Terms of Service, which are available at rogers.com/terms, and form part of our Wireless Service Agreement with you. Capitalized terms below have the meanings given to them in the Rogers Terms of Service or the Wireless Service Agreement. Amounts below do not include applicable taxes.

 

Visual Voicemail
With Visual Voicemail, there are two ways to retrieve your voicemail messages:

  1. By pressing and holding 1 on your phone, which is treated as any other wireless call with all minutes used deducted from the number of minutes included in your voice plan; or
  2. Accessing a Visual Voicemail message directly through your phone, which will not use any minutes included with your voice plan nor incur any data usage charges (except when roaming).

Data Usage
Your iPhone will be enabled for data usage. If you subscribe to a plan with no data included, data charges apply at a pay-per-use rate of $0.03/kb for the first 500kb you use in a month and $0.01/kb thereafter.for data sent and/or received over the Rogers network, unless you subscribe to a data plan, which we highly recommend. Roaming charges apply while using your iPhone outside Canada. U.S. data roaming on iPhone Packages is $3/MB. The standard international data roaming rate applies. Visit rogers.com/roaming for our roaming rates and destinations. Data usage is measured in KB rounded to the next full KB.

 

Roaming
Substantial charges may be incurred if your iPhone is taken out of Canada even if no services are intentionally used. Voice and data usage while roaming, including data usage incurred from delivery of Visual Voicemail messages, will be charged at our regular roaming rates. Visit rogers.com/roaming for our roaming rates and destinations. If you subscribe to a data plan, then your data roaming usage (including receipt of Visual Voicemail messages when roaming) are charged at the roaming rates applicable to your data plan. If you subscribe to an international data roaming plan, then your data roaming usage (including receipt of Visual Voicemail messages when roaming) will be deducted from the number of kilobytes included in the roaming plan. If you want to reduce data charges while travelling, please ensure that the Data Roaming toggle is set to "OFF", which will block data roaming when the iPhone is outside Canada

 

Hotspots WiFi
If you subscribe to an iPhone Voice & Data Package, then you will have WiFi access to Rogers and Fido Hotspots™ without incurring additional usage charges while using your iPhone. For the Rogers and Fido Hotspots footprint, please go to rogers.com/hotspots.

 

Important Note to Existing Rogers Wireless Customers
If you are an existing Rogers Wireless customer and have subscribed to a new iPhone Voice & Data Package, please note the following:

  1. the voice plan portion of your new package will become effective at midnight at the end of the day that you have subscribed to your new package;
  2. the data plan and text messaging portions of your new package will become effective immediately upon activation, unless you have an existing data and/or text messaging plan, in which case the data plan and/or text messaging portion(s) of your new package will take effect at midnight at the end of the day that you have subscribed to your new package; and
  3. since your existing plan will only be effective for a portion of the current billing period, the Monthly Service Fee and the minutes and/or data usage included in that plan will be pro-rated to reflect the portion of the current billing period that your existing plan was effective, which may result in additional charges for any minutes and/or data usage exceeding the plan’s pro-rated monthly allowance.

Unauthorized modification to iPhone
Your iPhone is restricted to use on the Rogers network, unless you are roaming. If you attempt to unlock your iPhone and use it on another network, it may become permanently unusable. Making unauthorized modifications to the software on your iPhone violates the iPhone software license agreement, and any resulting inability to use your iPhone is not covered under your iPhone’s warranty.

 

Data Early Cancellation Fee
The Data Early Cancellation Fee more fully described in your Wireless Service Agreement does not apply to the iPhone Voice & Data Packages.
