    Rogers Family Scholarship Programs

The Rogers family have always felt that it was important to give back to the community, and education was their favoured approach. Through the support of education, the family hope to make a difference as education is the first step in achieving success in life.

Ted and Loretta Rogers have made significant donations to educational institutions. Ryerson University and the University of Toronto are two which have benefited from their focus. In 2000, Ted and Loretta Rogers donated $25 million to the University of Toronto's School of Computer and Electrical Engineering. This donation established the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as over 80 graduate scholarships and 40 undergraduate scholarships. In the same year, Ted and Loretta donated $10 million to Ryerson, to establish the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Graduate School for Advanced Communications. This donation created over 20 graduate fellowships and two academic chairs. In 2007, Ted and Loretta donated $15 million to the Faculty of Business at Ryerson University, which was renamed the Ted Rogers School of Management. This donation created 20 new undergraduate and 20 graduate awards and an academic research chair.

Rogers Communications has also supported scholarships and awards at post secondary institutions, including Carleton University, Brock University, University of British Columbia, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Ryerson University, York University, and the University of King's College, Halifax.

Outside the capital support provided by the Rogers' family to educational institutions, Ted and Loretta help support over 200 students every year through a combination of scholarships and awards.
