Yes.

What fees should I expect to pay for a hardware upgrade?

When completing a hardware upgrade, you can expect to see two charges on your Rogers invoice:

• The price of the phone
• A $35 hardware upgrade administration fee

Why was I charged an administration fee?

The $35 hardware upgrade administration fee is a processing/handling charge that covers the cost of activating the phone on the Rogers network, managing on-hand inventory (warehouse), restocking and tracking of inventory fulfillment.

Am I eligible for the $50 hardware upgrade rebate credit?

Customers who complete a hardware upgrade are eligible for a one-time $50 hardware upgrade rebate credit. This will be applied to your wireless account after you redeem the rebate by logging in to My Rogers on rogers.com.

Inventory and Reserving iPhone 4S

I want to reserve iPhone 4S—how does the Rogers Reservation System work online?

Quickly and easily! Simply log in to My Rogers on rogers.com, click Device Reservation, choose iPhone 4S in the drop-down device selection and decide the location you'd like to pick it up. You'll get regular email updates on the status of your iPhone, and you can always check your order online.

I reserved an iPhone 4S, how will I know when it's available?

Once the reserved phone is received at the store you've selected, you'll get an email that your order has been received and the store will call you to let you know they have it. And you're always able to check the status of your order on rogers.com.

Why haven't I received my iPhone 4S that I reserved yet?

We're sorry you haven't received your order yet. If your reservation status is "OPEN", we're waiting for inventory from Apple. If the status is "IN PROGRESS", your device is on its way from our warehouse to the store you chose and you'll get an email shortly confirming shipment. If the reservation status is "SHIPPED", follow the progress of your shipment using the UPS link in your confirmation email.

How do I pick the best plan for my iPhone 4S?

You're absolutely able to buy it without a term plan. In this case, the cost of the device won't be subsidized; you'll pay the full no-term price.

Can I get iPhone 4S without a data plan?

It's technically possible to use iPhone 4S without a data plan, but that limits your experience with it. To enable all the interactive services and applications iPhone 4S offers, we strongly encourage you to get a data plan with iPhone 4S–which discounts the cost of the device as well.

Will iPhone 4S be eligible for data sharing?

Will you be matching offers from competitors?

While we don't have an official "price matching" policy, our pricing is reviewed regularly in the marketplace to ensure we're competitive with other providers.

Why is the pricing different in stores, call centres and online?

Can I change my data plan if I'm using more/less than my current plan?

How much does data actually cost?

There's no per kB charge for data unless you exceed your monthly data allotment. If you don't have a data plan and try to access the internet, you'll be prompted to buy a data pass for the day or the week. Please refer to our plans page for more information.

How do I activate my iPhone 4S?

With iOS 5, you no longer need a computer to activate your Apple device. You can now activate and set up your device wirelessly, right out of the box. Download free iOS software updates directly on your device. Do more with your apps—like editing your photos or adding new email folders–on your device, without the need for a Mac or PC. And backup and restore your device automatically using iCloud. So you can start typing a name and iOS 5 does the rest. You can even add a location to any tweet, no matter which app you're tweeting from.

Is the iPhone 4S a 4G device?

There are some discrepancies between carriers as to what the definition of "4G" is, although both devices use the same GSM compatible networks: UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA

Not at this time.

How do I activate my email?

1. From the Home screen, tap Mail.
   Note: If an account is already configured, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account.
2. Tap the desired option. The following example is for setting up a Gmail account as the selected option.
   Note: Images and wording may vary depending on the option selected.
3. Enter your email account details and then tap Next.
4. If unable to verify login details, please try the Manual email setup option.
5. From the set-up options, you can choose to synchronize your:
   • Mail
   • Calendars
   • Notes
   Once you've made your selections, tap Save.
6. After account email account details are verified, the "Mail, Contacts, Calendar" will appear.
7. To return to the Home screen, press the Home button.
8. Test the set-up by sending an email.

Manual Email Setup

1. From Add Account, tap Other.
2. Tap Add Mail Account.
3. Enter your email account details and then tap Next.
4. If the option is available, tap IMAP or POP depending on your account type.
5. Enter Incoming Mail Server information.
6. Enter Outgoing Mail Server information.
7. From the pop-up screen, tap desired option.
   • Cancel: To return to the account information screen and re-enter information.
   • Details: To view details of the problem.
   • Continue: To proceed and save information.
8. If you require further assistance, verify the email settings are correct with the email service provider.
9. Test the set-up by sending an email.

Does the iPhone 4S use a regular SIM or a micro-SIM?

The iPhone 4S uses a micro-SIM card.

How do I insert my micro-SIM?

1. Power off the iPhone.
2. Remove the SIM card tray.
3. Insert the end of a paper clip into the hole which holds the SIM card tray.
   
4. Push firmly until the tray pops out.
5. Pull out the SIM card tray and place the SIM card in the tray as shown.
   
6. Insert the SIM card into the tray.
   
7. Re-insert the SIM tray.
   

How do I enable my iPhone to access Wi-Fi at home or when I'm away from home?

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
2. Tap Wi-Fi.
3. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to ON to enable.
4. The iPhone will search for available Wi-Fi networks.
5. Once you've located the network you wish connect to, select it and enter the connection password if one is required.

How do I use Wi-Fi?

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
2. Tap Wi-Fi.
3. Tap the desired network.
4. If connecting to a secure network, enter the password, and then tap Join.
   Note: Secure networks appear with a lock icon next to them.
5. Once connected, a check mark will appear next to the network name, and the Wi-Fi icon will be displayed in the status bar.

How do I transfer contacts from my current phone to the iPhone 4S?

You can back-up and restore your iPhone data with iTunes by following the steps below:

1. Open iTunes.
   Note: Verify the desired Apple ID is signed-in. You can sign-in by clicking Store > Sign In.
2. Plug the iPhone into a computer using a USB cable.
3. Select the desired restore file and click Continue.
   
   Note: The Restore from Backup... option does not upgrade or change the current iPhone firmware.
4. To manually restore from a backup, locate DEVICES and right-click the device name and select Restore from Backup...
   
   Note: If using a Mac with a standard mouse, press Ctrl and then click.

How do I download an App?

You can back-up and restore your iPhone data with iTunes by following the steps below:

1. From the Home screen, tap the App Store.
   Note: Music and ringtones can be downloaded by tapping on the iTunes icon from the Home screen.
2. Browse and tap the desired application you wish to download.
3. Tap the price of the item.
4. Tap INSTALL.
5. Tap desired option:
   • Use Existing Account
   • Create New Account
6. Enter iTunes account details and tap OK.
7. After iTunes account details have been verified, your item will download and install.

To remove an application you installed, please follow these steps:

1. Locate the App you want to remove from your device.
2. Press and hold down on the app you want to remove.
3. Tap on the "x" located on the top left of the application icon.
4. You will receive a warning to ensure you want to remove the app, confirm if you want to remove the app.
5. The app will be removed from your phone.

Important: When uninstalling an app, it is completely removed from your phone. Should you wish to obtain the app again, you will have to download and install it again or sync it from your computer if you had purchased or saved it on the computer.

How do I upload my iTunes music /apps to iCloud?

Whenever you download an app, song, take a picture or make any changes to iCloud compatible applications, your information is synchronized wirelessly through the Cloud that is associated with your Apple account.

How to Manually Add a Contact.

1. Click Contacts icon.
2. Click "+" symbol top right corner.
3. Now you can enter your contacts information. Click in the fields to type.
4. When finished entering the information, click Done to save your entry.

How to Edit a Contact

1. Click Contacts icon.
2. Find the contact you wish to edit and click on it.
3. Click Edit, top right corner.
4. Click Done to save your changes.

Note: You can also add/edit entries to your contacts list by clicking on Phone Icon > Contacts.

How to Set Up Your Visual Voicemail Greeting

1. Tap on Phone.
2. Tap on Voicemail.
3. Tap on Greeting on the top left.
4. Tap on Custom if it is not already selected.
5. Tap on Record to begin recording your greeting.
6. Tap on Stop to stop the recording.
7. To check your greeting, tap on Play to hear it. If you are unsatisfied with your greeting, you can use steps 5 and 6 to try and record it again.
8. Once you are satisfied with your recording, tap on Save on the top right.

How to Set Up a Passcode Lock for Your iPhone 4S

To set up a passcode lock for your device, follow these steps:

1. Tap on Settings.
2. Tap on General.
3. Tap on Passcode Lock.
4. You have the option to use a simple passcode (4-digit PIN), or a password. If you want to use a 4-digit pin, ensure Simple Passcode is set to On. Otherwise, turn it off to use a password.
5. Tap on Turn Passcode On.
6. Enter a 4-digit PIN or password.
7. Enter the 4-digit PIN or password again to confirm.
8. Your device is now passcode/password locked.

Are there any size limitations to iCloud files or storage limit restrictions?

When you sign up for iCloud you get 5GB of free storage.

Does using iCloud count as data usage?

What does "unbrick" mean?

Wi-Fi is required.

Will iPhone 4S include near field communication (NFC) technology for mobile payments?

Not at this time.

Does iPhone 4S support tethering for use as a modem?

You can connect to your iPhone 4S hotspot to access the internet on your other Wi-Fi capable devices.
