For devices running BlackBerry Device Software v4.0.2, the BlackBerry Messenger software is already installed and can be found as follows:

  • BlackBerry 7100 Series- the BlackBerry Messenger application can be accessed from the Applications menu
  • Other BlackBerry devices- the BlackBerry Messenger icon appears on the BlackBerry Home screen.

For devices with 16 MB of memory or higher with BlackBerry Device Software v3.7.1, the BlackBerry Messenger software can be downloaded to the device as follows:

  • Launch your Internet Browser
  • Go to blackberry.com/messenger
  • Select "Download Now"
  • Accept Terms and Conditions
  • Select "Click here to load BlackBerry Messenger to your device"
  • Select "Download"
  • Once downloaded, refer to point 1 to find the application on your BlackBerry device
