Local Number Portability

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU TRANSFER YOUR NUMBER

Local Number Portability Customer Checklist – What to Expect When You Transfer Your Number to Rogers

Important! Do not cancel your service with your old service provider.
We will give you a temporary number for your new Rogers Wireless phone which will be automatically replaced with the number you are transferring once the transfer is complete.
You will need to finalize your number transfer after you receive your phone if you purchase it online.
You will receive a text message on your Rogers Wireless phone when your number transfer is complete.
You will need to fulfil any contractual obligations including payment of early cancellation fees to your old service provider (if applicable).
Don’t Cancel Your Service
If you do, you will lose that number and you will not be able to transfer it to Rogers Wireless.
More About Your Temporary Number
Your temporary number will allow you to begin using your new Rogers Wireless phone and all the features you have chosen (like Voicemail, text messaging, Call Display, etc.), plus it will ensure that you stay fully connected throughout the transfer.

When your number transfer is completed, your Rogers Wireless temporary phone number will be automatically replaced with the number you requested to be transferred from your old service provider to Rogers Wireless.

You can “call forward”* the phone number you are transferring to your temporary Rogers Wireless phone number so that all calls that go to your existing number will automatically be routed to your new Rogers Wireless phone. This means you will not need to give out your temporary Rogers Wireless phone number as people will be able to call you on your existing number. You won’t have to carry your old phone either.

Finalizing Your Number Transfer
If you are ordering your Rogers Wireless phone online, once you receive your new phone, you will need to go to rogers.com/complete or call 1 866 637-6639 to finalize your number transfer. This will automatically disconnect service with your old service provider. If you purchased your Rogers Wireless phone in a Rogers’ store, your number transfer will be automatically completed and you will not be required to finalize your number transfer.
Contractual Obligations With Your Old Service Provider
It will be your responsibility to review your existing contract with your old service provider. You will need to fulfil any
contractual obligations including payment of early cancellation fees to your old service provider (if applicable).

You will continue to receive invoices from your old service provider for service fees up to the date your number transfer is completed. It is your responsibility to pay your old service provider’s invoices.
