Exciting updates to the NavigatrTM system include a new guide, a new menu with redesigned settings, better search capabilities and a new mini-guide.
These updates will allow you to:

  • Quickly find the shows you want and discover new favourites with an easier-to-use guide.
  • Record programs, manage your shows and delete entire series in just two steps.
  • Find the shows you love faster than ever with a new search engine.
  • Get to what you want to watch sooner by searching and sort your shows quickly with redesigned PVR menus.
  • Check what else is on without ever switching away from the show you’re watching with our new mini-guide.
  • See thumbnails of the shows and movies in search and on your PVR.

I just got the Navigatr update and see a welcome screen. How do I navigate it?
You can navigate to the Next or Start Watching TV options on your welcome screen by using your Rogers remote’s Right and Left arrows. You can find more information on how to navigate the welcome screen here.

What if my set top box freezes while downloading an update or when showing the onboarding welcome screen?
If your digital set-top box freezes while downloading an update or on the welcome screen, a simple reboot should fix the problem. To reboot your box, unplug the power cord from the outlet for 10 seconds and then plug it back in. Once the power cord is plugged back into the outlet, the box will reboot automatically. You’ll know your box has rebooted when you see the time reappear on the display.
Note: It may take up to five minutes for your box to complete the rebooting process.

Which Rogers digital set-top boxes will be updated with the new Navigatr guide?
Rogers customers in Ontario (excluding those in the Hamilton and Kincardine regions, as well as those in the region serviced by Compton Communications) with the following boxes will automatically receive the update:

  • NextBoxTM 2.0 HD
  • NextBox 2.0 HD PVR
  • NextBox 3.0 HD PVR
  • NextBox 4K
  • NextBox 4K PVR

When will the updates take place?
Updates will begin in October 2016 and continue over the following weeks.

I like my current Nextbox guide. Is it possible for me to opt-out of the Navigatr update?
Customers are not able to opt-out of this update. We’ve updated the look and feel of the guide and made it easier and more intuitive to use. We’ve also included new features and updates to others like the mini-guide, info screen, PVR, a new search engine, and more that we know you’ll love.

Where can I find out more about the new Navigatr guide?

Why do some programs have missing images?
Some images might be missing where we have not obtained them from a content producer. We’re always working to obtain more images to improve your Navigatr experience!

Can I hide unsubscribed channels?
With the new Navigatr guide, you can use the C button on your remote to apply the following filters to your channels: Subscribed, Pay Per View, Favourites and Music. You can also hide individual channels in the Settings menu by navigating to Channel Setup and selecting Hide Channels.

Where can I find my scheduled and recorded shows?
The Navigatr guide allows you to view your scheduled and recorded shows in tile view (poster art) or list view (text only). Use the Right arrow on your Rogers remote to move the action bar to the right. Use the Up and Down arrows to toggle between recorded shows and scheduled recordings.

Some of my recordings have the same title, yet aren’t grouped together. Why is this?
All programs recorded as a series from the same channel will be grouped together in the Recorded tile list. Recordings scheduled separately will appear separately. We’re always working on improving your TV experience, so keep checking back for more updates.

How can I filter my recordings?
You can now manage recordings by pressing the C button on your remote and selecting the option to filter in alphabetical order or date.

How do I see the number of recorded and scheduled shows I have?
Within Navigatr, each tile shows the total of recorded and scheduled shows, with more information visible when selecting each tile. The main page also shows total recorded and scheduled shows.

With Navigatr you’ll also be able to view the exact number of scheduled shows by selecting the Filter/Sort options in your list.

Is it possible to delete multiple shows at the same time?
Yes. With the Navigatr Guide you can watch shows, record and delete an entire series. Find out how here.

Is it possible to see the dates of recorded programs in the list?
When in list view (text only) you will see the dates of recorded programs. In tile view (poster art) you can click the tile to see the date.

Is it possible to program the new Rogers Champion remote to function with the NextBox 3.0 or NextBox 4K?
Yes. You just need to complete a few steps to have your new remote work with the NextBox. Learn more about how to program your remote.
