Learn about the various features and services for speech support with Rogers Home Phone.

Services for speech support

We’re pleased to offer our Home Phone customers with special needs the following services:

  • Directory Assistance: No charge for 100 directory assistance (4-1-1) calls per month.
  • Operator Assistance: We provide free operator assistance to help complete local, long distance, sent paid (per-minute rates apply), collect, and bill-to-third-party calls. Local and long distance charges apply.


Compatibility with home emergency services 

Our Home Phone service is compatible with the following home emergency services:

  • DirectAlert
  • Mondial Lifeguard Technologies
  • ConnectCare
  • Philips Lifeline

Message Relay Service 

Message Relay Service (MRS) helps you communicate through a standard phone line with a relay operator via teletypewriter (TTY) . MRS support both voice carry over (VCO) and hearing carry over (HCO) calls. 

The following phone numbers support teletypewriter (TTY) devices to communicate through a relay operator:

  • 1 800 855-0511 (Voice to TTY)
  • 711 (TTY to Voice)
  • 1 800 855-1155 (TTY to TTY)


Features for speech support

The following features are available with some Rogers and Rogers together with Shaw Home Phone services. 


Call display 

See who's calling before you pick up the phone. Your caller ID-equipped phone or caller ID unit will display the incoming caller's name and telephone number, if available. This feature is included with all our Home Phone plans.

Call forward

Send your phone calls to a friend or family member to pick up. Call forward is included with Home Phone plans and can be activated using these steps:

  1. Activate this feature by dialing *72.
  2. When you hear the dial tone, enter the 10-digit number you’d like your calls forwarded to.


Distinctive ring

Distinctive ring lets you know the call is for you. Give out three different phone numbers that go to one line, so you'll know who's calling and why. Distinctive Ring can be added to any Home Phone plan.
