Learn about the various features and services for people with vision differences using Rogers Home Phone.

Services for vision support

We’re pleased to offer our Home Phone customers with special needs the following services:

  • Directory Assistance: No charge for 100 directory assistance (4-1-1) calls per month.
  • Operator Assistance: We provide free operator assistance to help complete local, long distance, sent paid (per-minute rates apply), collect, and bill-to-third-party calls. Local and long-distance charges apply.


Compatibility with home emergency services 

Our Home Phone service is compatible with the following home emergency services:

  • DirectAlert
  • Mondial Lifeguard Technologies
  • ConnectCare
  • Philips Lifeline


Features for vision support

The following features are available with some Rogers and Rogers together with Shaw Home Phone services. 

Call display

See who's calling before you pick up the phone. Your caller ID-equipped phone or caller ID unit will display the incoming caller's name and telephone number, if available. This feature is included with all our Home Phone plans.

Busy redial

When you make a call and get a busy signal, Busy Redial will notify you with a distinctive ring once the line is free. You won't have to keep redialing the number to check if it's free. Follow these steps to enable the feature.

  1. Dial *99 and select options 2, 1 then 1. When You hear a busy signal, hang up.
  2. Pick up the receiver and dial *66, a distinctive ring will let you know once the line is free.
  3. Pick up and you will be connected.


Call waiting

Beeps will indicate when you have a second call coming in.

Distinctive ring

Distinctive Ring lets you know the call is for you. Give out three different phone numbers that go to one line, so you'll know who's calling and why. Distinctive Ring can be added to any Home Phone plan.
