How to leverage G-Suite apps to meet your business' needs

Smart ways to get more out of Forms, Google+ and Admin

G-Suite, Google's suite of productivity apps, reveals more and more useful features the deeper you go. Here are a few things you can do with three familiar G-Suite tools – Forms, Google+ and Admin – that you might not have noticed before.

Forms

If you're a regular G-Suite user, chances are you've already used Forms to create customer-feedback surveys and review results with the app's automated analytics tool. But with a few extra clicks, you can do a lot more than just find out whether your clients were happy with the services and products you provided. For example, you can collect email addresses from respondents – useful for establishing a targeted, opted-in mailing list – and even allow people to attach and upload files, which could be used to gather more detailed feedback, aid in customer support or even facilitate contests. And as you develop more complex and tailored forms – adding company logos, images or even YouTube videos – you can establish templates that will save time in the future. Bonus: Forms and all of its features are included with every version of G-Suite, from Basic to Enterprise.

Google+

Many small-business owners see Google+ as little more than a social-networking tool – something to be used for marketing and monitored for customer feedback. But did you know that when you access Google+ from within G-Suite it can also be used as a secure internal-networking solution for teams that need privacy in their digital communications? You can establish a private domain network, ensuring that all data shared between team members is handled with enterprise-level security. Then, it's just a matter of adjusting your profile settings and choosing which content you want to share, and with whom. If you want to create an ongoing dialogue with specific members of your team, you can create a private community that requires new members to ask for permission to join. All content within the community will be handled with the privacy and confidentiality outlined in your G-Suite agreement.

Admin

As you likely already know, the Admin app offers all sorts of useful tools to manage your company's G-Suite experience, from creating customized roles within your organization to forcing two-step verification for enhanced security. And as your business grows, you'll likely find your employees making greater use of G-Suite, which means you'll be able to begin using Admin on a deeper level. For example, if you have an app you'd like all of your sales personnel to use, in just a few clicks you can distribute it – with settings preconfigured – to everyone on that team. Admin can also let you monitor other aspects of G-Suite, such as tracking how and when files on Google Drive are shared, including instances in which they're shared outside the network. Note: many of the more-advanced features of Admin are only available in the Business and Enterprise editions of G-Suite.
