How to restore your Cisco Meraki WiFi connection

If you're having trouble with your Cisco Meraki access point WiFi connection, try these steps to get back online. Whether you're using a single device or managing a larger network for your business, these quick checks can help:

  1. Check the scope of the issue
    1. Confirm if all devices are experiencing connection issues. If only one device can't connect, the issue might be with that specific device.
    2. Reboot the impacted device(s) if specific devices are affected. Power it off and back on to refresh its connection.
  2. Check the Cisco Meraki access point device status, look at the light on theaccess point:
    1. A solid blue light means your device is working properly.
    2. If there’s no light, move on to checking the power.
  3. Confirm power connections: Check that the power cord is securely connected to both the Cisco Meraki access point device and the power outlet.
  4. Verify the WiFi network manually
    1. Look for your network name (SSID) on your phone or computer. Check if your Wi-Fi network appears in the list of available networks.
    2. Select your network name, enter the Wi-Fi password, and confirm the connection.
  5. Restart your network equipment
    1. Unplug the power cords from your modem, Cisco Meraki access points, and any other networking equipment.
    2. Wait 15 seconds. Plug the power cords back in and allow a few minutes for everything to power up.
