How to Program Your 5-button Atlas Remote

The steps below explain how to program an Atlas remote to control your TV and other home entertainment devices.

These steps can also help if you find that you’re having trouble turning your TV on/off or if you’ve been having issues adjusting the volume with your Atlas remote.

Before you begin: Check your remote’s batteries to make sure there’s power. If they have power, you’ll see the remote’s device buttons light up when pressed.

  1. Turn on the device you’d like to control. You can turn the device on manually or with its original remote.
  2. On your remote, press the device button (e.g., TV, DVD), then press and hold SETUP until the device button blinks twice.
  3. Enter code 9–9–1.
  4. Pointing the remote towards your device, press CH+ and wait one or two seconds for the device power off. Continue this until it turns off.
  5. 5. Pointing the remote towards your device, press POWER to turn on your device. If your device does not turn on, press CH- and wait one or two seconds for the device to turn on. Continue this until it turns on.
  6. Press and hold SETUP to save the code. The device button will blink twice when the code is saved.

Program manually with manufacturer device codes

  1. In the Remote Control User’s Guide, find the manufacturer’s 4-digit code for the device you’d like to control.
  2. Turn on the device. You can turn the device on manually or with its original remote.
  3. On your remote, press the device button (e.g., TV, DVD), then press and hold SETUP until the device button blinks twice.
  4. Enter the code. The device button should blink twice.
    • If there’s a long blink, the code entered is not valid. Repeat from step 3 using the next code for the brand.
  5. To test the remote, point it at your device and press POWER. The device should turn off. If it doesn’t turn off, repeat from step 3 using the next code for the brand.
    • Consider keeping a record of the working code, in case you need to reprogram your remote in the future.
