Three enterprise mobile apps that can improve employee productivity

Here are three apps to help employees stay organized, collaborate more easily and better manage their projects

Apperian, 2017 Executive Enterprise Mobility Report

Do mobile apps make employees more productive? According to recent research, the answer is “yes.”

In Apperian’s 2017 Executive Enterprise Mobility Report, 43 percent of organizations stated that mobile apps improve their productivity. In 2016, just 23 percent of organizations saw this connection.

The average company uses 35 mobile apps.

Are you looking to improve your workplace collaboration and efficiency? Here are three apps that can help:

1. Asana

The Asana app helps teams track and manage their projects. With Asana, you can assign tasks to your team members, break down large projects into manageable to-do lists and stay on top of deadlines.

Asana integrates with popular communications tools, including Office 365. For example, you can receive a notification whenever someone in your Office 365 group creates, completes or updates a task. You can also integrate Asana with Microsoft Teams. This allows you to have a conversation about a project while you view all its outstanding tasks.

If you’re a G Suite user, you can sync Asana tasks with your Google Calendar. You can also use Asana directly within Gmail. In fact, Asana is part of the Recommended for G Suite program. It underwent rigorous security and quality testing to ensure it met Google’s standards.

2. Skype for Business

Your employees use a range of services—from web conferencing to video chat to instant messaging—to stay connected. But the more tools they use, the less likely it becomes all your systems will work together.

Since Skype for Business is part of Microsoft Office 365, you don’t need to worry that your web conferencing system won’t work with your productivity suite. Together, Skype for Business and Office 365 integrate all of your communications tools to provide seamless collaboration and to boost your productivity. With Skype for Business, you can:

· hold meetings with up to 250 attendees

· join meetings with a single click

· schedule meetings for the future or jump on a call now

· share your screen, change presenters, record meetings, conduct polls, monitor Q&As, mute callers and enjoy other essential web conferencing features

· present PowerPoints using interactive tools, such as laser pointers and highlighters

Skype for Business runs across Windows, iOS and Android, so employees can log into meetings and make calls from any device.

3. Yammer

Social networking can boost collaboration and offer an engaging way to stay connected. But you may not want your employees to discuss internal projects on a public platform.

Yammer, part of Office 365, is an enterprise social network that lets you control who gains access to your community. Since Yammer runs on your private network, you must approve each person who wants to join.

Once approved, employees can join groups based on their teams or interests. For example, your sales and product development teams can run groups. You can also create groups based on specific projects, such as a website redesign or an upcoming event.

Employees can use Yammer to collaborate with team members, share updates and receive notifications when someone comments on a project.

Yammer offers iOS and Android apps, making it easy for employees to collaborate from any device.

These apps can increase employee productivity and engagement. But to take full advantage of them, you must ensure your wireless plans give employees enough data so they can avoid overages when they use these apps on their mobile devices.
