Five ways mobility services transform business

Here are five ways the right wireless solution can improve your business productivity and drive revenue.

Wireless is about more than just phone services.

In fact, wireless can transform how you do business. It gives employees the flexibility to work at any time and from any location – boosting productivity and making it easier to collaborate.

If your company already invests in wireless, you likely have opportunities to get more value from it. Here are five ways your wireless solution can transform your business:

1. Provide better customer service

Today’s customers expect high-quality customer service and fast responses to their questions. In fact, 75 percent of customers expect help within five minutes of contacting a company online[1]. If they don’t receive prompt service, they will likely look for another vendor.

Building an intuitive, reliable communications solution can help you attract and retain more customers. For example, it will give everyone on your team instant access to the information they need – whether they want an answer to a customer’s question or to engage with a lead on social media. Because today’s employees are already mobile, engaged and “always on” in their personal lives, a strategy that allows them to work in a similar way reduces their learning curve. This allows them to better focus on customers.

2. Empower employees to work from any location on any device

According to Regus Canada, 47 percent of Canadian employees work outside their office for at least half of the week[2]. The majority of this segment – 54 percent – use mobile devices to remain productive while they travel.

Your wireless solution can empower employees to be their most productive when they are on the road. For example, your roaming plan should automatically apply a pre-determined, low rate when employees travel – ideally one that offers the same benefits they enjoy at home. You can also give employees a plan that allows them to share from a large pool of data. With these services, you won’t need to worry about expensive data overage charges or micromanaging individual plans. And your employees will be focused on their work – instead of worrying about data usage and roaming.

3. Improve collaboration within your building

Mobility isn’t just about supporting your road warriors. A flexible, mobile workplace also makes it easier for employees to collaborate within your four walls.

When you empower employees to be productive wherever they work, they won’t return to their desks only to see a missed call. Mobility empowers them to stay connected at all times – whether they are at a workstation, in a conference room or on the shop floor.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Canada Aerospace (MHICA) recently upgraded from its legacy telephony equipment to a cloud-based unified communications system. Prior to this transition, MHICA employees had separate mobile and desk lines. Engineers who spent time on the shop floor often missed calls and voicemails – sometimes until they got back to their desks at the end of the day.

Although some people still like a desk phone, each employee now has one number for all of their devices to ensure that all calls are answered promptly.

4. Reduce your IT burden

Many growing companies have small, overworked IT teams. While IT professionals are under pressure to innovate, they spend the majority of their time keeping the lights on.

Luckily, improving business’s mobility doesn’t need to mean placing new burdens on your IT team. An enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution can manage all of your wireless devices and applications. With EMM, you don’t need to worry about provisioning and de-provisioning devices. Some EMM solutions also include end-to-end managed services that handle everything from upgrades to wireless security. They protect your devices, applications and content – allowing employees to work securely from any device while your IT team spends less time on maintenance and more time driving value for your company.

5. Quickly scale

Legacy telecommunications equipment is difficult and costly to scale. Many companies need to shut down part of their operations every time they need to run lines for desk phones.

But you can’t afford to disrupt your business to install phones. When you go wireless, you can avoid the high costs and time-consuming tasks associated with legacy infrastructure. Look for a wireless solution that gives you flexibility so that you can quickly add and remove lines. It should also allow you to quickly connect remote locations, such as new offices or retail sites.
