Improve your marketing efforts with these three Office 365 apps

Use Connections, Listings and Outlook 2016 to create better email campaigns, get noticed online and stay on top of all your marketing tasks

Many businesses thrive or fail based on the effectiveness of their marketing campaigns, but it can be challenging for smaller companies to spend the time and resources necessary to execute smart tactics. Fortunately, Microsoft Office 365 offers inexpensive and easy-to-use tools – such as One Drive, SharePoint and Skype for Business – that can help steer your business in the right direction. We'll take a quick look at three of these tools – Microsoft Connections, Microsoft Listings and Outlook 2016 – which can provide invaluable assistance in creating effective email marketing campaigns, developing a more robust online presence and managing milestones.

The app also analyzes which tactics are proving more effective than others by tracking emails that resonate with readers and identifying those that result in people unsubscribing.

Microsoft Connections

Connections is essentially a one-stop shop for reaching out to both new and existing customers via email. It provides templates for designing and authoring professional-looking newsletters and email advertisements, helps you build mailing lists and lets you explore offering rewards to loyal customers who provide referrals. The app also analyzes which tactics are proving more effective than others by tracking emails that resonate with readers and identifying those that result in people unsubscribing. And you can do all of this from your computer or on your phone, letting you take care of your email marketing tasks on your schedule and terms. Connections is included with an Office 365 Business Premium subscription.

Listings also lets you monitor in real time the all-important customer feedback that comes from sites like Yelp.

Microsoft Listings

Getting noticed in a sea of competition is hard. Microsoft Listings, part of your Office 365 Business Premium subscription, takes the toil out of ensuring your company is listed and visible on key websites. It lets you publish your company's vitals – including name, logo, address, phone number, hours and website address – on sites such as Google, Bing, Facebook and Yelp at once with a few clicks. Should these details ever change, you can update them quickly across all sites simultaneously. Listings also lets you monitor in real time the all-important customer feedback that comes from sites like Yelp. That way you can quickly communicate with customers and address problems to preserve the online reputation of your business. It's a fast and simple way to keep tabs on your online presence.

Microsoft's all-in-one email, calendar and contacts app provides everything you need to organize and track key campaign milestones and ensure that you follow-up on important marketing tasks.

Outlook 2016

Half the battle of managing your digital marketing efforts is making sure you stay on top of them. That's where Office 2016 – a significant step up from your free Outlook email account – comes in. Microsoft's all-in-one email, calendar and contacts app provides everything you need to organize and track key campaign milestones and ensure that you follow-up on important marketing tasks. You can use it to share and assign duties to members of your team, create reminders for important dates in your campaign and quickly extract key contact information to help build targeted marketing efforts via powerful search features. If you have an Office 365 Business subscription, you already have access to Outlook 2016.
