How To: Create a Username

Username (formerly Shaw ID) is a single login for our products and services like MyRogers (Shaw) and Rogers Xfinity app. Each account can have one primary username, belonging to the primary account holder. Up to four secondary usernames can be created for others in your household. To see what apps your username can be used with visit About: Mobile Apps for Rogers together with Shaw content.

Creating a primary Username

To create a primary username:

  1. Go to the MyRogers (Shaw) registration page.
  2. Enter an email address and choose a password for your username, then select Create Username.
    • If your email address is registered to your Account number, go to step 4.
    • Password requirements: minimum 8 characters, a number, an uppercase character, and a lowercase character. 
  3. Enter your Account Number and postal code found in your order summary, 2-year ValuePlan Agreement or on your monthly bill, then select Create your Username.
  4. Open your email from noreplyshawid@sjrb.ca and select Activate Now.
    • The link will be valid for 48 hours.

The screen will now show Your username is now active. You now have the option to manage your Rogers Fibre-Powered Network (via the Rogers Xfinity app on mobile devices), or to continue to MyRogers (Shaw) (via desktop or mobile) to manage your account.

    • You are getting an error stating you already have a username associated with this email address or
    • You are trying to add your new account on an existing username .

Create a secondary Username

Secondary Usernames can only access content. They cannot manage account or network information nor access the Rogers Xfinity app. To invite someone to create a username on your Shaw account, follow the steps below:

Via MyRogers (Shaw) website:

  1. Visit MyRogers (Shaw).
  2. Sign in using your Username and password.
  3. Select My Profile and scroll down to My Usernames.
  4. Select Add Username.
  5. Enter a name and email address to send the invitation to create a Username on your account. 

You can also invite someone using the MyRogers (Shaw) App (Apple App Store | Google Play Store).

Via MyRogers (Shaw) App:

  1. Open the MyRogers (Shaw) App.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Tap Invite.
  4. Enter the name an email address of the person you want to invite.
  5. Tap Invite to send the invitation to create a Username on your account.

Username invitation links are valid for 48 hours.
