Understanding the credit card processing charge

Starting January 17, 2027, if you choose to pay your Rogers bill by credit card, a 1.6% credit card processing charge will apply. This reflects the fees we are charged by credit card companies. Other payment options, such as debit card or direct debit from your bank account, are available without the charge.

If you choose to pay your bill by credit card, it's increasingly common across many sectors for a credit card fee to apply.

Not applicable to Quebec customers.

When does the credit card processing charge apply?

The charge applies every time you pay your Rogers bill with a credit card (Auto-Pay or one-time payments).

The charge doesn't apply to any other payment method, including:

  • Direct debit from your bank account
  • Online banking payments
  • Cheques
  • Rogers gift cards
  • Prepaid cards
  • Debit Mastercard
  • Visa Debit

Quebec customers are not subject to the credit card processing charge.

Customers on select specialized plans like Connected for Success or former Shaw Mobile customers on migrated plans, are also not subject to the credit card processing charge.

Where your credit card processing charge will appear

One-time credit card payments

When making a one-time bill payment with credit card, you can view a breakdown of your total charge including the bill payment amount, credit card processing charge and any applicable taxes, before confirming your payment.

You will also receive a payment confirmation receipt by email.

Your credit card statement will only show the total charge.

Automatic payments (Auto-Pay) with a credit card

The credit card processing charge applies at the time your credit card payment is processed. On your monthly bill, you will see your total bill amount, the amount of the credit card processing charge and the expected date your credit card will be charged.
