How to Install the Day/Night HD Camera

Follow these steps to install the Day/Night HD Camera for your Rogers Smart Home Monitoring system. We recommend pairing your camera before mounting it on the wall.

Haven’t paired the camera? Visit the pairing instructions for customers with a Touchpad or customers without a Touchpad.

Tip: Before mounting your camera, install and power it-up indoors to ensure it’s working correctly.

Indoor Installation Without Mounting

  1. Move the Day/Night HD Camera to where you plan to install it.
  2. Connect the Ethernet cable into the LAN port of the Day/Night HD Camera.
  3. Connect the DC cable to the Ethernet cable.
  4. Connect the supplied power adaptor to the DC cable and then plug it into a wall outlet. This will power up the Day/Night HD Camera.  CAUTION: Only use the power adaptor provided.   5. Check the LEDs on the camera:
    • The Power LED should come on briefly and then start to blink. It will blink for 15 to 20 seconds while it starts up. The LED will stop blinking and stay on once the start-up process is complete.
    • The Network LED should be ON.

Indoor Wall Mounting

  1. Using your hands, remove the plate from the bottom of the standsupport-install-camera-remove-baseplate
  2. Place the plate in the desired position on the mounting surface (wall, ceiling etc.). Screw three screws into the surface through the holes of the plate.                              support-install-camera-mount-baseplate
  3. Attach the stand to the plate.
  4. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable into the LAN port of the Day/Night HD Camera.
  5. Turn the Day/Night HD Camera clockwise to attach it to the stand.
  6. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the DC cable adapter.
  7. Plug the power adaptor into a wall outlet to power up the camera.
  8. Adjust the camera to the desired position and secure it firmly. Your Day/Night HD Camera is now ready for use.

Outdoor Installation

When installing the Day/Night HD Camera outdoors, it’s important to ensure the equipment is weatherproofed. Follow these steps for a weatherproofed installation.

  1. Using your hands, remove the plate from the bottom of the stand.
  2. Place the plate in the desired position on the exterior location. Screw three screws into the mounting surface (wall, ceiling, etc.).
  3. Attach the stand to the plate.
  4. Screw or attach the Day/Night HD Camera onto the camera stand.
  5. Pull the Ethernet cable through the weatherproof RJ45 sealing cap.
  6. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the Day/Night HD Camera and the other end to the DC cable.
  7. Connect the DC cable to the power adaptor.
  8. Plug the power adaptor into a wall outlet to power up the camera.
  9. Adjust the Day/Night HD Camera to a desired position and secure it firmly. It’s now ready for use.
