Prepare your door and check its dimensions

If you’re drilling into a new door, complete the door drilling instructions available at weiserlock.com/doorprep. If you’re drilling into an existing door, make sure:

  1. You have a standard deadbolt lock that’s mounted separately from the handle below it. These locks aren’t compatible:
    • Rim lock
    • Mortise lock
    • Integrated lock
  1. You unscrew and remove the existing lock from your door.
  2. The hole in your door is either 2.12 in. (54 mm) or 1.50 in. (38 mm).
    • More preparation might be needed for doors with 1.50 in. (38 mm) holes. Review the deadbolt drilling instructions at weiserlock.com/doorprep.
  3. The backset, middle of door hole to edge of door, is either 2.38 in. or 2.75 in. (60 or 70 mm).
  4. The hole in the edge of the door is 1in. (25 mm).
  5. The door is between 1.38 in. and 2 in. (35 mm and 51 mm) thick.

Install the latch and strike into your door

For these steps, you’ll need the Latch/Strike items.

  1. If your door is chiseled on the side hole, use latch A. If your door isn’t chiseled on the side, use latch B.
    • If the door latch bolt isn’t already sticking out, bring it out by turning the screw at the back of the latch to the right.
  1. Hold the latch against the door hole and not through the door hole with the latch face flush against the door edge.
  2. While still holding the latch, check if the D-shaped hole, near the back of the latch, lines up to the centre of your door hole
    • If it doesn’t line up, you need to rotate the latch clockwise then extend the latch bolt further.
  3. Now, turn the latch so that UP is on top.
  4. Insert the latch into the door edge hole.
    • If you’re using latch A, screw in the 2 small screws (03809). If your holes are worn out, use the longer screws (03809).
    • If you’re using latch B :
      1. Push the latch bolt back into the latch.
      2. Cover the latch bolt face with the wooden block.
      3. Use the hammer to gently hammer in the latch into the door edge hole.
      4. Now, extend your latch bolt again by turning the latch screw clockwise.
  5. Now, you can install the strike on the door frame:
    • Make sure the hole in your door frame is drilled to a minimum of 1in. (25 mm) deep.
    • The 2 long screws (SL03031011) install closest to the door jamb and the 2 small screws (SL03031011) on the other side

Check your door hole diameter and install the exterior touch screen

  1. Check the diameter of your door hole.

If your door hole diameter is 2.12 in. (54mm):

    1. Install your adapter ring on the exterior assembly.
    2. Install the large frost guard (68990) on the backplate and cylinder of the exterior assembly.

If your door hole diameter is 1.50 in. (38mm):

    1. You can discard the adapter ring.
    2. Install the small frost guard (68989) onto the backplate and cylinder of the exterior assembly.
  1. Now, pass the cable through the bigger hole in the middle.
  2. Push the cable down into the smaller bottom hole to hold it more securely.
  3. Make sure you bring the cable underneath the latch as you pass it through the door hole.
  4. Install the exterior touchscreen and mounting plate.
    1. Now, bring your exterior assembly to your door hole.
    2. Pass the same cable through the door hole and make sure it goes underneath the latch.
    3. Bring your mounting plate up to the other side of the door hole and pass the cable through the middle hole of the mounting plate
    4. Push the cable into the bottom hole to hold it more securely.
    5. Use the 2 long screws (48654) from your Lock items and tighten them evenly into the mounting plate. Don’t over tighten.
    6. Insert the key and test the latch. If the latch doesn’t extend or retract smoothly, you’ll need to adjust the screws. Remove the key when you’re done and make sure the latch bolt is fully extended again.

Install the interior assembly

Remove battery cover and pack:

  1. Remove the interior cover form the interior assembly.
    1. Make sure the turn piece shaft is rotated with the point facing upwards. If the turn piece shaft is not placed correctly, put the cover back on and move to the next step.
    2. If the turn piece shaft is pointing down, put the cover back onto the interior assembly and rotate the turn piece until you hear it click. Don’t install batteries yet.
  1. Install interior assembly onto mounting plate:
    1. Bring the interior assembly to the mounting plate.
    2. Connect the cable coming from the mounting plate to the interior assembly cable.
    3. Lay the excess cable flat inside the bottom of the interior housing, without squishing the cable.
    4. Now, connect the interior assembly with the mounting plate by putting the small mounting plate cylinder piece into the small hollow interior assembly cylinder piece.
    5. Now, screw in the 2 small (69316) screws from your Lock items, into the side, bottom holes of the interior assembly.
      • Make sure you’re using the correct screws. Using incorrect screws will damage the product.

Install the batteries and perform the door handing process

These steps will help your smart door lock learn the position of your door and is important for the lock to work right.

  1. If the door lock window is unlocked, take out the window to get to the battery pack. If the window is locked, take off the interior cover and screws to reach the battery pack.
  2. Take out the battery pack and open your door. Then install 4 AA batteries correctly into the battery pack. Use new, non-rechargeable Alkaline batteries only.
  3. Put the battery pack back in. After a few seconds, the latch bolt will come out on its own to fit to your door. This is called the door handing process and is crucial to lock operation.
  4. When the door handing process is complete, the touchscreen will indicate success or failure. If successful, you’ll see a flashing checkmark symbol and a single column of numbers. If unsuccessful, you’ll see a flashing X pattern.

If the touchscreen is unsuccessful, try these steps again. If the door handing process doesn’t work after a second try, follow the next Manual door handing steps.

Manual door handing your door lock (If needed)

The door handing process can be done manually. This can also be useful if you need to move your door lock to a different door or if you need to program your door lock for left-hand or right-hand control.

  1. If the door lock window is unlocked, take out the window to get to the battery pack.
  2. If the window is locked, remove the interior cover and screws to get to the battery pack.
  3. Take out the battery pack.
  4. Press and hold the program button while putting the battery pack back in.
  5. Let go of the program button when the battery pack is fully inserted. The status LED will flash red and green.
  6. Press the program button again. The latch bolt will now extend and retract to learn the position of your door.

When completed, the status LED light will blink every 6 seconds to show the lock’s state:

  • An amber light means locked.
  • A green light means unlocked.

Pair your smart door lock using the Rogers Xfinity app

Depending on which device you use, visit the  Setting up your door lock for the first time (iOS) guide or Setting up your door lock for the first time (Android) guide and follow the steps to pair your smart door lock using your Rogers Xfinity app.

Add user codes (30 maximum)

If you don’t touch the screen for 20 seconds, the door lock system will time out. It’ll beep 3 times and show numbers in an X pattern that will flash 3 times. You’ll need to try these steps again.

  1. Make sure the door is open.
  2. Press the program button once.
  3. Press the checkmark symbol once.
  4. Enter a user code. Each user code must be a unique code between 4 to 8 numbers. A maximum of 30 users codes can be programmed and added.
  5. Press the lock symbol once.

When you’ve programmed a user code successfully, you’ll see a checkmark symbol and the lock will beep once. The beeping sound will only be heard if switch 3 on the lock interior is in the ON position.

If you’ve unsuccessfully programed, you’ll see numbers shown in an X pattern and the door lock will beep 3 times.

  • Make sure the user code isn’t a duplicate and that it’s between 4 to 8 numbers when you try these steps again.
  • Make sure the lock has room for an additional code. If all user code positions are filled, remove a code to make room for this role.

For better security, a master code can be used when adding and removing user codes. You can learn more about master codes and user codes by visiting the Troubleshoot your Rogers Xfinity Smart Door Lock (Weiser)

Test the functionality of your door lock

Check that the user code or codes you’ve added can unlock the door. If you enter 3 wrong codes within one minute, the touchscreen will lock for 60 seconds.

There are 3 options to activate your door lock’s touchscreen:

  • Touch the screen with the palm of your hand until the numbers light up.
  • Touch the lower left corner of the screen, where the check mark is located, until the numbers light up.
  • Touch the screen with 3 or more fingers until the numbers light up.

To lock your door, activate the screen and then press the lock symbol. If no user codes are programmed, the door can’t be locked through the touchscreen.

To unlock your door:

  1. Activate the screen.
  2. If a SecureScreen is on, touch the random numbers that appear. A SecureScreen is an added-security feature that displays random numbers before you enter a user code to unlock the door.
    • This feature makes sure that there are fingerprints on all numbers so that codes can’t be identified by examining the touchscreen for fingerprints.
  1. Enter a user code. If you enter the wrong number while entering a user code, you can press the lock symbol once to clear it. Then, enter your code again.

Install interior cover

The window on the interior cover is locked by default to stop someone from changing your lock’s settings.

To unlock the windows, remove the security screw, then slide the window up for easier access to the programming buttons while the cover is on.

To install your interior cover:

  1. Rotate the turn piece to align with the turn piece shaft.
  2. Install the 3 small screws (69316). 2 on the side and 1 at the bottom of the interior cover.

If you want to access your battery pack:

  1. If the door lock window is unlocked, take out the window to get to the battery pack. If the window is locked, take off the interior cover and remove the screws to get to the battery pack.
  2. Take out the battery pack.
