Pair your Rogers Xfinity Water Sensor

Before you install, you need to pair your water sensor.

  1. When you pair, make sure your sensor is near your Rogers Xfinity Gateway modem. This will help you get the best connection.
  2. Open your Rogers Xfinity app.
  3. Select the Home tab.
  4. Select Add smart devices.
  5. Select Set up sensors.
  6. Select Get started. The app should now start setting up the Gateway to pair with the sensor.
  7. Remove the battery cover from the water sensor by lifting it from one of the tabs on the side. Put the 2 AAAA batteries in the right place.
    • Leave the battery cover off until you start the installation process.
  8. Select Begin pairing sensors.
  9. Select Next. The app will begin scanning for available sensors to pair with.
  10. When the water sensor you’re trying to pair shows up in the app, select Continue.
  11. Select Begin water leak installation.
  12. Press the battery cover back onto the water sensor.
  13. Select Begin installation.

You’re now ready to begin installing your water sensor.

Install your water sensor

After pairing, choose a spot to install your water sensor. It can go on a flat surface near water, heaters, drain pans, or under a sink. When you’ve picked a spot, follow these steps to install:

  1. Select Next.
  2. Select Begin sensor test.
  3. Put a small amount of water on the surface you’ll be placing your sensor on. All four probes on the bottom of the sensor should touch the water, but don't submerge the sensor.
  4. If your sensor isn’t working, select My sensor may not be working.
  5. If a success message does appear, wipe the sensor and surface dry and select Continue. Now, when the sensor reacts to a water leak or flood, you’ll be notified in the app.
  6. Select Continue.
  7. Give your water sensor a name. It’s best to name your sensors based on where they’re installed, such as “Bathroom sink,” so you know which sensor is which in the app and where the event occurred.
  8. Select Done.

An optional protective cover is provided, which can be placed on top of your water sensor and screwed into the surface to protect it from being damaged or accidently moved.

You’ve successfully installed your water sensor. Check that your Rogers Xfinity app’s notifications are enabled on your device’s app settings that way you can receive real-time notifications.
