How to Reset your Hitron CGN3 Modem

The following steps explain how to manually factory reset a Hitron CGNM3552, CGN3ACR or CGN3.

Using the modem's Reset button

  1. Locate the Reset button on the back of the modem.support-factory-reset HitronCGN3
  2. Press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds.
  3. After 10 seconds, release the button. The modem should restart and the lights will flash.
  4. Once the modem is finished restarting and is online the settings will be back to default. At this stage you’ll need to set it up again manually. 

Reset through the Admin interface

  1. Open a web browser and type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
  2. Enter the following to access the modem settings:
    • Username: cusadmin
    • Password: password (or your current Wi-Fi password)
  3. Select Login.
    • If you’re unable to log in to the Admin interface, follow the ‘reset button’ method above to reset your modem.
  4. Select Admin.
  5. Select Device Reset.
  6. Select Factory Reset to reset the device.
  7. Once the modem is finished restarting and is online the settings will be back to default. At this stage you’ll need to set it up again manually.
