Activate BlackBerry 10 Device

The following steps explain the activation process for a BlackBerry 10 device.

Note: Before beginning the activation process, ensure you have sufficient battery life and access to the charging cable.

  1. Insert the SIM card and battery into your BlackBerry 10 device.
  2. Power on the device.
  3. Select the language of your choice.
  4. Choose and connect to a Wi-Fi network.
    • If you don’t currently have Wi-Fi access, swipe to the left to skip.
  5. You will be prompted when successfully connected to Wi-Fi. Swipe to the left to continue.
  6. Tap I Agree.
  7. Tap Create New to create a BlackBerry ID or tap Sign In if you currently have a BlackBerry ID.
  8. Select to Enable or Disable your location data.
    • Some apps may require this feature to be enabled. This can be changed later on.
  9. The device will automatically check for software updates.
    • If update is available tap Update.
  10. A message will display Configuration Complete when the activation process is complete.
