Perform a Hard Reset on BlackBerry OS 10.x

The following steps explain how to completely turn off and restart the smartphone’s OS and applications on BlackBerry OS 10.x.

Note: A reset will not delete any user settings or data.

Method 1:

  1. Remove the battery cover from the back of the smartphone.
  2. Remove the battery, and then reinsert it after a few seconds.
  3. Replace the battery cover.
    • The BlackBerry will take several minutes to start up.

Method 2:

  1. Press and hold the Power key for 10 seconds.
  2. Press and hold the Volume up key and the Volume down key at the same time for 10 seconds.
    • The BlackBerry will take several minutes to start up.
