Frequently Asked Questions - TTC

Who has more reliable access to 9-1-1 services?

With the launch of Rogers service in the TTC, all riders, regardless of mobile provider, now have more reliable access to 911 service in the areas pictured above.

TTC riders with any mobile provider can call 911 where the legacy cellular network exists – on station platforms, concourses, and approximately 25% of the tunnels – in the Downtown U (St. George to Bloor-Yonge) and Vaughan extension (Downsview Park to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre)

Rogers is working hard to modernize and expand the network so all riders can reliably access 911 everywhere across the subway system

Who can access mobile connectivity?

All Rogers, Fido, and chatr customers are able to access full mobile coverage to talk, text and stream when in the areas pictured above.

Rogers is working hard to modernize and expand the network so customers can connect to 5G everywhere across the subway system.

What is the mobile coverage experience like for our customers?

Customers riding on the areas of the TTC subway where both stations and tunnels are connected to the Rogers network should stay connected throughout their trip.

Customers riding in the areas of the TTC subway where stations, but not tunnels, are connected to the Rogers network will have full wireless coverage while standing on the platform and riding the train when it stops at the station. When the train leaves the station, customers will not have full wireless coverage until the train arrives at the next station with service.

When will our customers have wireless coverage in the other stations and tunnels not pictured above?

Rogers is working hard to modernize and expand the network so all riders can reliably access 9-1-1 and connect to 5G everywhere across the subway system.

This page will updated as our network team continues to connect more stations and tunnels across all 75 subway stations and nearly 80 kilometres of track.
