Underground cable location services

Underground network cables are an essential part of how we deliver our services. Before you dig, contact your provincial One Call service to request a locate. This ensures all buried lines are marked so you can work safely and avoid damaging infrastructure.

Work safely

Before digging, plan your job and consider which utilities may be affected above or below ground. This can include telecom or fibre lines, gas lines, power lines, water mains, or other infrastructure.

Damaging these can cause service outages and may result in injury to you or others. As the ground disturber (excavator), you’re responsible for contacting all utility owners for locates before starting work.

Use your province’s One Call service to send your locate request to participating public utilities.

Markings

If your excavation will be within 1 metre of a marked line (paint, flags, stakes, etc.), carefully expose the utility using hand tools (shovel or spade) or hydro vac under 1500 psi. Take care not to damage equipment.

Report damage

If you damage or discover damage involving Rogers cables, call 1‑800‑254‑9501.
Report any other damage to the appropriate utility.

Contact your province’s One Call service

One Call (Call or Click Before You Dig) helps promote safe digging by forwarding your locate request to participating utilities. If a utility isn’t part of One Call in your province, contact them directly to make sure all buried infrastructure is marked.
