How to program and use Rogers Xfinity accessibility remotes

Rogers offers two accessibility-friendly remotes: the Rogers Xfinity Large Button Voice Remote and the Big Button Remote. Both are designed for customers with visual, dexterity, or cognitive needs.

Rogers Xfinity Large Button Voice Remote

Key features:

  • Voice control: Press and release (or hold) the Mic button to search and control with your voice.
  • Shortcut button: Press the yellow asterisk (*) to quickly access your preset (guide, accessibility options, or screensaver).
  • Easy battery replacement: Push the yellow button on the back of your remote.

Pair your voice remote

Start by pairing your remote with the Rogers Xfinity set-top box, by following the on-screen prompts.

  • Aim the remote at your Rogers Xfinity set-top box and press the Mic button to start Smart Pairing.
  • If Smart Pairing doesn’t work, hold the Home and Info buttons for 5 seconds until the light turns green and the remote vibrates. Enter the three-digit code shown on your TV screen.
  • You’ll be able to pair your TV and audio system now or later.

If you choose to pair your TV and audio system later:

  • Press and hold the Home and Mute buttons for 5 seconds until the light turns green.
  • For your TV brand, enter the first five-digit code (for example, 10810).
  • For audio system or soundbar, enter the audio device code (for example, 31495).

Accessibility shortcuts

Press the yellow asterisk (*) button, select Accessibility Settings, then assign your shortcut.

Button alternatives

The Large Button Voice Remote doesn’t have A-B-C-D or Record buttons. Use these alternatives:

  • Record: Use Guide or Info.
  • A - Say “Help” or go to Settings > Help.
  • B - Use the yellow asterisk (*) or Settings > Accessibility.
  • C - Say “Sports App” or go to Apps > Sports.
  • D - PVR options.

Factory reset

  • Hold Home and Page Up buttons until the light turns green.
  • Press 9-8-1 to reset.

Rogers Big Button Remote

Simple and easy to use. Doesn’t include:

  • Voice command
  • Bluetooth pairing or battery notifications

Keep the remote pointed at your TV and set-top box.

How to pair your Rogers Big Button Remote

  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. Press TV Power on the remote.
  3. Hold SETUP until the LED blinks twice.
  4. Enter the first TV code from the manual (English only).
  5. Press TV Power again to test power and volume.
