No, Advanced Security provides an added layer of protection but does not replace antivirus software nor other security measures, such as keeping your operating systems and applications up to date, and using strong, unique passwords.

While traditional antivirus software is typically downloaded to individual computers, laptops or phones, Advanced Security is enabled in the Rogers Xfinity app to help prevent threats from reaching the many different devices connected to the home network.

Select Rogers Xfinity app features including Advanced Security, Parental Controls, and Active Time Details may not be available or work as expected if the Rogers Xfinity Gateway is put into bridge mode, or if your device is connected using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or services such as MAC Randomization (Private Wi Fi Address) and Apple iCloud Private Relay.
