Unable to receive incoming calls on your mobile device

If you’re not getting incoming calls on your mobile device, use the following steps to troubleshoot.

Test your call after each step. If calls still aren't coming through, move on to the next fix.

1. Quick restart for your mobile device

Turn your mobile device off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

2. Check device settings that may block your mobile calls

Turn off Airplane Mode

  • Android: Open Settings > Connections > Turn Flight Mode off
  • iPhone: Open Settings > Airplane Mode > Turn it off

Turn off Do Not Disturb

  • Android: Go to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > Turn it off
  • iPhone: Swipe down from the top-right, tap Focus (crescent moon icon) > Turn it off

Turn off Call Forwarding

  • Android: Open the Phone app > tap Menu (three dots) > Settings > Supplementary Services > Call Forwarding > Turn it off
  • iPhone: Go to Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding > Turn it off

Unblock the Caller’s Number

  • Android: Open the Phone app > tap Menu (three dots) > Settings > Blocked Numbers
  • iPhone: Open Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts

Turn on Call Waiting

Call Waiting helps you manage multiple calls.

  • Android: Open the Phone app > Menu > Settings > Supplementary Services > Call Waiting
  • iPhone: Open Settings > Phone > Call Waiting > Turn it on

Turn off Silence Unknown Callers (iPhone only)

  • Go to Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers > Turn it off

3. Check Your Mobile Network Connection: Switch Network Mode

  • Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Try a different mode (like LTE or 5G)
  • iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Option > Voice and Data > Choose a different mode

Reset Mobile Network Settings

This removes saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, so make sure you have any needed passwords ready.

  • Android: Open Settings > Search for Reset > Select Reset Network Settings
  • iPhone: Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings

4. Update your mobile device to the latest software version

  • Android: Open Settings > Software Update > Install updates if available
  • iPhone: Open Settings > General > Software Update > Install updates if available

5. Check for Rogers Mobile Network Issues

There could be a local outage affecting your calls from your mobile device.
