Service interruptions and network outages

We’re committed to offering a dependable experience, working around the clock to help keep our customers connected. However, some temporary service interruptions may happen due to planned activities (i.e., network upgrades) or unexpected events like construction work or extreme weather. Here’s everything you need to know about service interruptions.

* For information about service interruptions, visit rogers.com/outage.

What are service interruptions?

A service interruption is any disruption to the regular functions of your internet, TV, mobile or home phone service. Interruptions may vary from affecting only a part of your service (e.g. access to TV channels, slow internet speeds, slow data speeds) or the service being down for a period of time.

  • Access to specific TV channels
  • Slower internet speed
  • Degraded TV picture quality
  • Slow data speeds

For home products, service interruptions may be planned or unplanned. Check out FAQs about Planned Network Maintenance to learn more about planned outages. If you were previously notified about fibre network enhancements in your neighbourhood, visit More fibre-power is coming your way.

What causes unplanned service interruptions?

Unplanned service interruptions may happen due to situations out of our control. These may include but are not limited to:

  • Technical or equipment issues
  • Fibre cuts
  • Power outages
  • Construction
  • Severe weather
  • Network congestion due to emergencies or extreme circumstances.

How long do service interruptions last?

The time to restore services varies depending on the nature and scope of the interruption.

In some instances, like a power outage impacting Rogers equipment, we may simply have to wait for power in the area to be restored.
