Stand against scams

Rogers is a founding member of the Canadian Anti‑Scam Coalition.
We’re working with industry partners and law enforcement to help everyone stay safe and spot scams.

Stay aware and protected

Scams happen, but staying aware can make a big difference. Pause, look closer and reach out to someone you trust if you’re unsure. Scams affect more than our wallets. They can stop us from feeling confident and secure online. Together, we can make it easier for everyone to recognize and avoid scams.

Step 1: Stop

Scammers often try to create pressure, so you react quickly. If a message makes you feel rushed or uneasy, take a moment to slow things down. This can help you recognize common tactics like urgent requests, emotional stories or someone trying to sound like an authority figure.

Step 2: Check

Scammers rely on us reacting quickly instead of taking a moment to confirm what’s really going on.  If something doesn’t feel right or seems too good to be true, look into it. Call your bank or look for the organization yourself to make sure the request is real. Talking to someone you trust can also help you get clarity before you take the next step.

Why reporting is important

Confirms suspicious activity

If you’re unsure about what happened, reporting it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre can help confirm whether the request was real or a scam.

Helps prevent future scams

Sharing your experience helps organizations spot patterns, improve their tools, and support investigations, which helps keep others in the community safe.
