How to change your Secret Word using the Smart Home Monitoring app

You can change your verbal passcode for your Smart Home Monitoring service using the app.

The Secret Word is a verbal password set up with you at time of installation and is used by the Central Monitoring Station to authenticate an Emergency Dispatch Contact as a person authorized to provide instructions, such as cancelling an alarm dispatch. This protects you from unauthorized people cancelling an alarm dispatch.

  1. Sign into the Smart Home Monitoring app using your MyRogers credentials.
  2. Select More.
  3. Select Storage Quotas.
  4. Scroll down and select Change Secret Word.
  5. Enter your Master Access Code.
  6. Under the Secret Word heading, enter a new Secret Word.
  7. Select Save.

If your Smart Home Monitoring system includes a Touchpad, you can also update your Secret Word using the Touchpad.
