Name and Assign Devices to User Profiles with Ignite WiFi Hub

Ignite WiFiTM Hub makes it easy to name devices and assign them to user profiles for easy WiFi management.

The Ignite WiFi Hub app is available exclusively for Rogers Internet customers with an Ignite WiFi Gateway modem (original or Gen 2). Not sure if this is your modem? Check under “Internet” on your MyRogers account.

Naming devices

  1. Open the Ignite WiFi Hub app and sign in using your MyRogers username and password.
  2. Select the Connect tab to display a list of the devices currently connected to your home WiFi network.
    • The list will also include any device that has connected to your home WiFi in the past 6 months.
  3. Select the device you wish to name.
  4. Select the pencil icon.
  5. Give the device a name and customize the icon for easy identification.

Assigning a Devices to a User Profiles - By Device

  1. Open the Ignite WiFi Hub app and sign in using your MyRogers username and password.
  2. Select the Connect tab.
  3. Select the device you want to add to a profile from the list of devices.
  4. Scroll down to Assigned To and select Assign Device.
    • You can only assign a device to one profile. If this has already been done, you’ll see that profile name here instead.
  5. Select the profile you want to add the device to. You can assign the device to either a custom profile you have created or to one of the two optional profiles already included to help you get started:
    • Household: great for smart home or other devices used by multiple people in the home.
    • Guest: great for managing the devices connected to your home network by visiting friends or family members. Please note that this is not a separate network.
  6. Select Apply to save the change.
  7. You’ll then get a success message. Select Close to return to the device information screen.
    • The profile that you’ve added the device to will now be listed under Assigned To.

Assign a Device to a User Profile – By Profile

  1. Open the Ignite WiFi Hub and sign in using your MyRogers username and password.
  2. Select People.
    • If no devices have been added to a profile yet, you’ll only have the option to create a new profile
    • When you see that, you can then use the instructions above to assign a device to the premade Household or Guest
  3. Select the profile you want to add a device to.
    • Important: Profiles only display in the People tab if a device has already been assigned to it and is currently connected. If you don’t see the profile you want to assign a device to, you’ll need to use the Assign a Device to a User Profile – By Device instructions above.
    • You can assign the device to either a custom profile you have created or to one of the two optional profiles already included to help you get started:
      • Household: great for smart home or other devices used by multiple people in the home.
      • Guest: great for managing the devices connected to your home network by visiting friends or family members. Please note that this is not a separate network.
  4. Select Assign Device.
  5. Check the box(es) beside the device(s) you want to add to this profile.
    • Select Show Not Connected Devices to see recently connected devices that are not currently online.
    • Only devices that are not already assigned to another profile will be available to be selected.
  6. Select Apply to save the change.
  7. You’ll then get a success message. Select Close to return to the People
    • If the device you’ve added is currently online, you’ll see the profile and device listed here now.
