Why am I having problems with my PVR playback?

If you have the picture or audio distorted when you are using the PVR feature, try the following to resolve the problem:

  • If you have any splitters on the coaxial cable leading to your Digital PVR Box, try reconnecting them.
  • If you have a VCR, stereo receiver, DVD player or other device connected to the Digital PVR box. Make sure that all the cables are connected by referring to the instructions and diagram that most closely resemble your home entertainment centre.
  • Test the issue by recording a new program by following the instructions in your User Guide. Make sure that you watch the same program while you record it. If audio and video issues appear while you're watching the live program, skip to step 5. If the audio and video issues don't appear while watching the live program, go to step 4.
  • Playback the test recording. If you still see issues, go to the next step.
  • If you haven't already, try power-cycling your Digital PVR Box by unplugging its power cord from the wall. Wait 10 seconds and plug it back in. The clock display on your box will begin to flash and then go blank. Wait until the time in the clock display returns. (This may take 2–5 minutes—please be patient.) When the time reappears in the clock display, press the power button on your Digital PVR Box. Make sure that your TV is turned on and tuned to channel 03 (or channel 4 depending on your equipment).
