Bandsteering is enabled by default on the Ignite WiFi Gateway modem. This helps ensure your devices automatically connect to the WiFi network with the strongest signal.

If you want to check that bandsteering is still turned on, you can use Ignite HomeConnectTM.

Keep in mind:If you have WiFi Pods, you won't see your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi networks listed separately. Pods require that you only have one WiFi network name and password so that all your devices can seamlessly connect to the network that will provide the best WiFi signal at any given time.

Using Ignite HomeConnect

  1. Open the Ignite HomeConnect app.
  2. Sign in using your MyRogers credentials.
  3. From the Overview tab – Select “View Network Details
  4. Tap the Pencil Icon on the top right corner
  5. Update your WiFi network name & Password as desired
  6. Then press Apply Changes
  7. Confirm that the box next to “Use different names and passwords for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi” is not checked. (If you have WiFi pods, this option will not be visible).
  8. If it is checked:
    • Uncheck the box.
    • Update the WiFi Name and WiFi Password fields with the credentials you want to use.
    • Select Apply Changes to finish and re-enable bandsteering.Select Show Password. Your current WiFi password will be displayed.
