Set up a Rogers Yahoo! account on a device or email program

On this page you’ll find instructions for setting up a Rogers Yahoo! account on some common devices and email programs. Once set up, you can send and receive emails from your Rogers Yahoo! account from these devices/email programs.

Keep in mind, while we provide POP set-up instructions, we recommend that you set up email using IMAP as it’s designed for use with web-based email and multiple computers/devices simultaneously.

iOS 11 or higher

The following instructions will help you to set up or remove your Rogers Yahoo! email account on an Apple device running iOS 11 or higher.

  1. Open the iOS Settings app.
  2. Tap:
    • Accounts & Passwords (iOS 11)
    • Passwords & Accounts (iOS 12)
  3. Tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Yahoo!
  5. Enter your full Rogers email address and tap Next.
  6. Enter your email account password and tap Sign in.
  7. Optionally, disable aspects of Rogers email from syncing.
  8. Tap Save.
  9. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Note: Yahoo! does not support IMAP "push" notifications to the native iOS mail client. You will need to set a preferred Fetch interval in the device settings to pull messages from Yahoo!

If you wish to get push notifications as messages arrive, you can install and use the Yahoo! Mail app for iOS.

iOS 9 or iOS 10

The following instructions will help you to set up or remove your Rogers Yahoo! email account on an Apple device running iOS 9 or iOS 10.

  1. Open the iOS Settings app.
  2. Tap :
    • iOS 9: Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    • iOS 10: Mail
  3. Tap Accounts.
  4. Tap Add Account.
  5. Tap Yahoo!
  6. Enter your full Rogers email address and tap Next.
  7. Enter your email account password and tap Sign in.
  8. Optionally, disable aspects of Rogers email from syncing.
  9. Tap Save.
  10. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Note: Yahoo! does not support IMAP "push" notifications to the native iOS mail client. You will need to set a preferred Fetch interval in the device settings to pull messages from Yahoo!

If you wish to get push notifications as messages arrive, you can install and use the Yahoo! Mail app for iOS.

Android 5.X or higher.

The following instructions will help you to set up your Rogers Yahoo! email account in the Gmail app on an Android 5.x or higher device.

  1. Open the Android Settings app.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Personal (IMAP).
  5. Enter your full Rogers email address and tap Next.
  6. Enter your email account password and tap Sign in.
  7. Tap Agree.
  8. Select the desired options and tap Next.
  9. Type your name, the way you want others to see it when they receive emails from you, then tap Next.
  10. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Android 4.x

The following steps explain how to set up your Rogers Yahoo! email on devices running Android 4.x. An App Password will is needed to make these settings work.

Generate an App Password in the Member Centre

  1. Go to the Rogers Member Centre.
  2. Sign in with the Rogers Yahoo! Email address you’re creating the password for.
  3. Click Account Information. Note, if you are following these steps on a mobile device click the menu for this option.
  4. Select Authorized Applications.
  5. In the Name your password field, type the name of the app (mail client’s name) that requires the password and then click Generate.
  6. Copy the generated password and keep it handy, as you’ll need it later in this process.
  7. Paste the password in your email program using the instructions below.
  8. Close the Generated App Password popup window.

Add an account using IMAP

  1. Locate and tap on the Email application on the device. This can be found on the application screen.
  2. If this is the first email account being integrated skip straight to step 3. If there is an existing account, follow these steps:
    • Tap the Menu button.
    • Select Settings.
    • Select Add account.
  3. Type in your Email Address and the App Password you created, and then tap on Manual Setup.
  4. Tap on IMAP account.
  5. Fill in the fields with the following:
    • Confirm that the Username matches the email address.
    • For the IMAP Server input imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com.
    • For the Port input 993.
    • For Security Type select SSL.
  6. Tap on Next.
  7. Fill in the fields with the following:
    • For SMTP Server input smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com.
    • For Security Type select SSL.
    • For the Port input 465.
    • Confirm that Require Sign-in is checked.
    • If the User name and Password fields are blank, enter the email address and app password you created.
  8. Tap on Next.
  9. You will now have the option to customize the account with:
    • Email checking frequency.
    • Sending emails with this email by default.
    • Being notified once emails are received.
  10. Tap on Next.
  11. Give the account a name and input a display name for outgoing messages (optional).
  12. Tap on Done, email setup is now complete.

Add an account using POP

  1. Locate and tap on the Email application on the device. This can be found on the application screen.
  2. If this is the first email account being integrated skip straight to step 3. If there is an existing account, follow these steps:
    • Tap the Menu button.
    • Select Settings.
    • Select Add account.
  3. Type in your Email Address and the App Password you created, and then tap on Manual Setup.
  4. Tap on POP3 account.
  5. Fill in the fields with the following:
    • Confirm that the username matches the email address.
    • For the POP3 Server input pop.broadband.rogers.com.
    • For the Port input 995.
    • For Security Type select SSL.
  6. Tap on Next.
  7. Fill in the fields with the following:
    • For SMTP Server input smtp.broadband.rogers.com.
    • For Security Type select SSL.
    • For the Port input 465.
    • Confirm that Require Sign-in is checked.
    • If the Username and Password fields are blank, enter the Email Address and the App Password you created.
  8. Tap on Next.
  9. You will now have the option to customize the account with:
    • Email checking frequency.
    • Sending emails with this email by default.
    • Being notified once emails are received.
  10. Tap on Next.
  11. Give the account a name and input a display name for outgoing messages (optional).
  12. Tap on Done, email setup is now complete.

BlackBerry Android

The following instructions will help you to set up your Rogers Yahoo! email account on a BlackBerry Android device.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Tap Add account.
  4. Tap Yahoo.
  5. Enter your full Rogers email address and tap Next.
  6. Enter your email account password and tap Sign in.
  7. Tap Done.

BlackBerry 10

The following instructions will help you to set up your Rogers Yahoo! email account on a BlackBerry 10 device. An App Password is needed to make these settings work.

Generate an App Password in the Member Centre:

  1. Go to the Rogers Member Centre.
  2. Sign in with the Rogers Yahoo! Email address you’re creating the password for.
  3. Click Account Information. Note, if you are following these steps on a mobile device click the menu for this option.
  4. Select Authorized Applications.
  5. In the Name your password field, type the name of the app (mail client’s name) that requires the password and then click Generate.
  6. Copy the generated password and keep it handy, as you’ll need it later in this process.
  7. Paste the password in your email program using the instructions below.
  8. Close the Generated App Password popup window.

Add a Rogers email account to BlackBerry 10 device:

  1. Open the BlackBerry Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Accounts.
  3. From the bottom menu tap Add Account.
  4. From the bottom menu tap Advanced.
  5. Tap the IMAP account type.
  6. Enter your full Rogers email address in the Username field.
  7. Enter your Rogers email address in the Email Address field.
  8. Enter the App Password you created in in the Password field.
  9. Enter imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com in the Server Address.
  10. Confirm that SSL is selected for Encryption and the Port is set to 993.
  11. Enter smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com in the SMTP Server Address field.
  12. Confirm that SSL is selected for Encryption and the SMTP port is set to 465.
  13. Modify the Sync Interval and Initial Retrieval Amount if desired.
  14. Tap Done from the top right corner or Save from the bottom right corner.
  15. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Mail for macOS 10.11/El Capitan or Higher

The following instructions will help you set up your Rogers Yahoo! email account for use with Mail for macOS 10.11 or higher.

Rogers recommends you set up with IMAP as it will allow you to access your email from webmail and multiple devices. While POP is supported for the users that require it, an App Password is needed to make it work.

Add an account using IMAP

  1. Click Mail.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Click Accounts.
  4. Click the Plus (+) icon located on the bottom right-hand corner of the preferences window.
  5. In the Add Account screen, select Yahoo! and click Continue.
  6. Enter your full Rogers email address and click Next.
  7. Enter your email account password and click Sign In
  8. Once Mail has finished authenticating the account, click Done.
  9. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Add an account using POP

An App Password is needed to make these settings work.

Generate an App Password for POP in the Member Centre

  1. Go to the sign in page.
  2. Enter the Rogers Yahoo! email address and password for the account you’d like to create an App Password for. Select Next.
  3. Mobile: Select the menu icon in the top-left corner, then Account Information.
    Desktop: Select Account Information in the top-right corner of your browser window.
  4. Select Authorized Applications.
  5. In the Name your password field, label your App Password with the name of the mail client it’s for, then select Generate.
  6. Write down the randomly generated app password or copy it to your clipboard.
  7. Enter the password in Mail using the instructions below. When you’re finished, select Done on the popup.

In Mail

  1. Click Mail.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Click Accounts.
  4. In the Accounts window, click the Plus (+) icon located at the bottom-left corner to add an account.
  5. In the Add Account window enter the following:
    • Full Name: the name displayed to the email recipient.
    • Email Address: enter the full email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
    • Before you click continue, hold the Option key and click Continue to turn on manual settings.
  6. On the Incoming Mail Server window, enter the following:
    • Account Type: select POP from the drop down menu.
    • Description: may be any descriptive text.
    • Incoming Mail Server: pop.broadband.rogers.com
    • Username: full Rogers email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. On the Incoming Mail Security window, Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) should be selected. Select Password from the Authentication drop-down menu and click Continue.
  9. On the Outgoing Mail Server window enter the following:
    • Description: for naming purposes only (optional).
    • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.broadband.rogers.com.
    • Use Only This Server: typically used for multiple accounts using multiple outgoing mail servers (optional).
    • Use Authentication: Selected.
    • User Name: Enter the full email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
  10. Click Continue.
  11. In the Outgoing Mail Security window, select Password from the Authentication drop-down menu. Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) should be selected.
  12. Click Continue.
  13. Review all the information and click on Create to create the email account. Once that is done you will be taken back to the Accounts Screen.

Modify an existing POP account to use Rogers Yahoo! email servers

An App Password is needed to make these settings work.

  1. Click Mail from the menu bar and then select Preferences from the list. Click Accounts.
  2. In the Accounts window, check the following:
    • Email Address: enter the full email address.
    • Incoming Mail Server: pop.broadband.rogers.com
    • User Name: enter the full email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
  3. Click the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop-down and select Edit Server List.
  4. In the Account Information window, confirm that the Server Name is smtp.broadband.rogers.com
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. In the Advanced window, check the following:
    • Use custom port: 465
    • Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): should be checked.
    • Authentication: Password.
    • User Name: full email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
  7. Click Ok.
  8. In the Accounts window, click on the Advanced tab.
  9. In the Advanced window, check the following:
    • Remove copy from server after retrieving a message: If this is checked, email will be backed up on webmail which can be accessed at the Rogers Yahoo! website.
    • Port: 995
    • Use SSL: Checked.
    • Authentication: Password
  10. Close the Preferences window and send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Outlook 2016, 2019 or Office 365

The following instructions will help you to set up your Rogers Yahoo! email account for use with Microsoft Outlook 2016, 2019 or Office 365.

Rogers recommends you set up with IMAP as it was designed for use with webmail and multiple computers/devices simultaneously. An App Password is needed to make these settings work.

Generate an App Password in the Member Centre

  1. Go to the Rogers Member Centre.
  2. Sign in with the Rogers Yahoo! Email address you’re creating the password for.
  3. Click Account Information. Note, if you are following these steps on a mobile device click the menu for this option.
  4. Select Authorized Applications.
  5. In the Name your password field, type the name of the app (mail client’s name) that requires the password and then click Generate.
  6. Copy the generated password and keep it handy, as you’ll need it later in this process.
  7. Paste the password in your email program using the instructions below.
  8. Close the Generated App Password popup window.

Add an Account using IMAP

  1. Click File.
  2. Click Add Account.
  3. If you’re asked for more details than just your email address, make sure Outlook 2016 has been updated to the latest available service pack.
  4. Select Advanced Options.
  5. Check the box that reads “Let me set up my account manually.”
  6. Select Connect.
  7. Select POP or IMAP.
  8. If the IMAP Account Setting window appears, enter the following information:
    • Incoming mail server: imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Port: 993
    • Encryption method: SSL/TLS
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • Port: 465
    • Encryption method: SSL/TLS
  9. Enter your password.
  10. Select Close.
  11. Select Finish.
  12. Send a test email to ensure your account is up and running. If it doesn’t work, try the above steps. If you’re still having problems, contact us and we’ll help you out.

Modify existing IMAP settings to use Rogers Yahoo! servers

  1. Select File.
  2. Select Account Settings.
  3. Select Account Settings.
  4. On the email tab, highlight your Rogers email and select Change.
  5. In the POP and IMAP Account Settings window, check the following:
    • Your Name: the name you want others to see in the From field when they receive emails from you.
    • Email Address: your full Rogers email address.
    • Account Type: IMAP.
    • Incoming mail server: imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
      1. User Name: your full Rogers email address.
      2. Password: the password you created.
        1. Remember password is optional, but if not selected you will have to enter your password every time you send or receive an email.
      3. Do not check Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
  6. Select More Settings.
  7. Select Outgoing Server.
  8. Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server are checked.
  9. Select Advanced
  10. In the Advanced window, check the following:
    • Incoming server (IMAP): 993
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
    • Make sure This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) and/or Use the following type of encrypted connection is checked/selected for both incoming and outgoing servers.
  11. Select OK.
  12. Select Next.
  13. Select Finish.
  14. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Outlook 2010 or 2013

The following instructions will help you to set up your Rogers Yahoo! email account for use with Microsoft Outlook 2010 or 2013.

Rogers recommends you set up with IMAP as it was designed for use with webmail and multiple computers/devices simultaneously. An App Password is needed to make these settings work.

Generate an App Password in the Member Centre

  1. Go to the Rogers Member Centre.
  2. Sign in with the Rogers Yahoo! Email address you’re creating the password for.
  3. Click Account Information. Note, if you are following these steps on a mobile device click the menu for this option.
  4. Select Authorized Applications.
  5. In the Name your password field, type the name of the app (mail client’s name) that requires the password and then click Generate.
  6. Copy the generated password and keep it handy, as you’ll need it later in this process.
  7. Paste the password in your email program using the instructions below.
  8. Close the Generated App Password popup window.

Add an account using IMAP

  1. Select File.
  2. Select Account Settings.
  3. Select New.
  4. In the Auto Account Setup window, enter the following:
    • Your Name: the name you want other to see in the From field when they receive emails from you.
    • Email Address: full Rogers email address.
    • Password: the app password you created.
    • Retype Password: the app password you created.
  5. Select Manually setup or additional server types, then select Next.
  6. Select POP or IMAP, then select Next.
  7. In the POP or IMAP Account Settings window, enter the following information:
    • Account Type: IMAP
    • Incoming mail server: imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • User Name: full Rogers email address.
    • Password: the app password you created.
  8. Select More Settings.
  9. Select Outgoing Server.
  10. Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming server are checked.
  11. Select Advanced.
  12. In the Advanced window, check the following:
    • Incoming server (IMAP): 993
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
    • Use the following type of encrypted connection: both boxes must have SSL selected.
  13. Select OK, then Next, then Finish.
  14. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working. If it doesn’t work, try the above steps again. If you’re still having problems, contact us and we’ll help you out.

Modify an existing IMAP account to use Rogers Yahoo! email servers:

  1. Select File.
  2. Select Account Settings.
  3. Select the email you wish to modify and select Change.
  4. In the Internet Email Settings window select the following:
    • Email address: full Rogers email address.
    • Incoming mail server: imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • User Name: full Rogers email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
  5. Select More Settings.
  6. Select Outgoing Server.
  7. Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and that Use same settings as my incoming mail server are checked.
  8. Select Advanced.
  9. In the Advanced window check the following:
    • Incoming server (IMAP): 993
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
    • In the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down menu, select SSL
  10. Select OK then Next.
  11. Select Finish.
  12. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working. If it doesn’t work, try the above steps. If you’re still having problems, contact us and we’ll help you out.

Outlook 2007

The following instructions will help you to set up your Rogers Yahoo! email account for use with Microsoft Outlook 2007.

Generate an App Password in the Member Centre

  1. Go to the Rogers Member Centre.
  2. Sign in with the Rogers Yahoo! Email address you’re creating the password for.
  3. Click Account Information. Note, if you are following these steps on a mobile device click the menu for this option.
  4. Select Authorized Applications.
  5. In the Name your password field, type the name of the app (mail client’s name) that requires the password and then click Generate.
  6. Copy the generated password and keep it handy, as you’ll need it later in this process.
  7. Paste the password in your email program using the instructions below.
  8. Close the Generated App Password popup window.

Add an account using IMAP

  1. Click Tools.
  2. Click Account Settings.
  3. Click New.
  4. In the Choose Email Service window choose Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, HTTP then click Next.
  5. In the Auto Account Setup window enter the following:
    • Your Name: the name you want other to see in the From field when they receive emails from you.
    • Email Address: full Rogers email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
    • Retype Password: the App Password you created.
  6. Click on the Manually configure server settings or additional server types button and click Next.
  7. Click Internet Email then click Next.
  8. In the Internet Email Settings window enter the following:
    • Your Name: display name how it will be seen by others.
    • Email address: full email address.
    • Account Type: IMAP.
    • Incoming Mail Server: imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • User name: enter in the full email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
      • Remember password is optional but if not selected you will have to enter your password every time you send or receive email.
    • Do not check Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
  9. Click More Settings.
  10. Click Outgoing Server.
  11. Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming server are checked.
  12. Click Advanced.
  13. In the Advanced window enter the following:
    • Incoming server (POP3): 995
      • This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) - this box must be checked.
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
    • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
  14. Click OK then Next then Finish.
  15. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Modify existing IMAP settings to use Rogers Yahoo! servers

  1. Click Tools.
  2. Click Account Settings.
  3. Select the email address you wish to modify and click Change.
  4. In the Internet Email Settings window check the following:
    • Email Address: full Rogers email address.
    • Account Type: IMAP
    • Incoming mail server: imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • User Name: full Rogers email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
  5. Click More Settings.
  6. Click Outgoing Server.
  7. Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server are selected.
  8. Click Advanced.
  9. In the Advanced window check the following:
    • Incoming server (IMAP): 993
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
    • In the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down menu, select SSL
  10. Click OK then Next then Finish.
  11. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Add an account using POP

  1. Click Tools.

  4. Click on the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP button and click on Next.
  5. Click on the Manually configure server settings or additional server types button and click Next.
  6. Click Internet Email then click Next.
  7. In the Internet Email Settings window enter the following:
    • Your Name: display name how it will be seen by others.
    • Email address: full email address.
    • Account Type: POP3
    • Incoming Mail Server: pop.broadband.rogers.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • User name: enter in the full email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
      • Remember password is optional but if not selected the customer will have to enter their password every time they send or receive email.
    • Do not check Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
  8. Click More Settings.
  9. Click Outgoing Server.
  10. Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming server are checked.
  11. Click Advanced.
  12. In the Advanced window enter the following:
    • Incoming server (POP3): 995

  4. In the Internet Email Settings window check the following:
    • Your Name: display name how it will be seen by others.
    • Email address: full email address.
    • Account Type: POP3
    • Incoming Mail Server: pop.broadband.rogers.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • User name: enter in the full email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
      • Remember password is optional, but if not selected you will have to enter your password every time you send or receive email.
    • Do not check Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
  5. Click More Settings.
  6. Click Outgoing Server.

Windows 8 Mail

Add an account using IMAP

  1. In the Mail program bring the mouse to the far right-hand side of the screen to access the Charms Bar.
  2. Select Settings then click Accounts.
  3. In the Accounts window select Add an account.
  4. In the Add an account window enter the correct email address and password.

    Click Show more details to manually enter the settings and enter the following information:

    • Email address: full Rogers.com email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
    • Incoming (IMAP) email server: imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Port: 993
    • Outgoing (SMTP) email server: smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • Port: 465
    • Make sure the following boxes are checked:
      • Server requires SSL.
      • Outgoing server requires authentication.
      • Use the same username and password to send and receive email.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. Once the new email appears on the list of accounts send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Windows Live Mail

The following instructions will help you to set up your Rogers Yahoo! email account for use with Windows Live Mail.

Rogers recommends you set up with IMAP as it was designed for use with webmail and multiple computers/devices simultaneously. An App Password is needed to make these settings work.

Generate an App Password in the Member Centre

  1. Go to the Rogers Member Centre.
  2. Sign in with the Rogers Yahoo! Email address you’re creating the password for.
  3. Click Account Information. Note, if you are following these steps on a mobile device click the menu for this option.
  4. Select Authorized Applications.
  5. In the Name your password field, type the name of the app (mail client’s name) that requires the password and then click Generate.
  6. Copy the generated password and keep it handy, as you’ll need it later in this process.
  7. Paste the password in your email program using the instructions below.
  8. Close the Generated App Password popup window.

Add an account using IMAP

  1. Click Accounts.
  2. Click Email.
  3. In the Add you email accounts window, enter the following:
    • Email address: full Rogers email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
    • Display name for your sent messages: the name you want to appear in the messages you send.
  4. Click Manually configure server settings.
  5. Click Next.
  6. In the Configure server settings windows, enter the following:
    • Incoming server information:
      • Server type: IMAP.
      • Server address: imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com.
      • Port: 993
      • Requires a secure connection (SSL) -- box must be checked.
      • Authenticate using: Clear Text
      • Logon user name: full Rogers email address.
    • Outgoing server information:
      • Server address: smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
      • Port: 465
      • Requires a secure connection – box must be checked
      • Requires authentication - box must be checked.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Click Finish.
  9. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Modify existing IMAP settings to use Rogers Yahoo! servers

  1. Click Accounts.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click Servers.
  4. In the Servers window, check the following information:
    • Incoming mail (IMAP): imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • Email username: full Rogers email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
    • Log on using clear text authentication: this should be selected.
    • My server requires authentication – box should be checked.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Make sure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected, then click OK.
  7. Click Advanced and check the following:
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
    • Incoming mail (IMAP): 993
    • Note: The two This server requires a secure connection (SSL) should be checked.
  8. Click Apply then OK.
  9. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Add an account using POP

  1. Click on Accounts.
  2. Click Email.
  3. In the Add your email accounts window, enter in the following:
    • Email address: Rogers Yahoo! email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
      • Selecting Remember password is optional, but if it isn’t selected, you will have to enter your password every time you send or receive an email.
    • Click on the Manually configure server settings button and click Next.
  4. In the Internet Email Settings window, enter the following information:
    • Incoming Server information
      • Server Type: POP3
      • Server address: pop.broadband.rogers.com
      • Port: 995
      • Authenticate using: Clear Text
      • Logon user name: full Rogers email address.
    • Outgoing server information
      • Server address: smtp.broadband.rogers.com
      • Port: 465
      • Requires authentication needs to be checked.
    • Requires a secure connection (SSL) should be clicked.
  5. Click Next, and then Finish.
  6. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Modify existing POP settings to use Rogers Yahoo! servers

  1. Click Accounts.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click Servers.
  4. In the Servers window, check the following:
    • Server Information
      • My incoming mail server is a: POP3
      • Incoming Mail Server: pop.broadband.rogers.com
      • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.broadband.rogers.com
    • Incoming Mail Server
      • Email username: enter in the full email address.
      • Password: the App Password you created.
        • Selecting Remember password is optional, but if it’s not selected you will have to enter your password every time you send or receive an email.
    • Log on using clear text authentication needs to be checked.
    • Outgoing Mail Server
      • My server requires authentication needs to be checked.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Make sure Use same settings as my incoming server is selected, and then click OK.
  7. Click Advanced.
  8. In the Advanced window, check the following:
    • Server Port Numbers
      • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
      • Incoming server (POP3): 995
      • This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) box is checked
    • Delivery
      • If Leave a copy of messages on server is selected, the emails will be backed up on webmail that you can access through the Rogers Yahoo! website.
  9. Click Apply, OK, and then Finish.
  10. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Windows Mail

The following instructions will help you to set up your Rogers Yahoo! email account for use with Windows Mail.

Rogers recommends you set up with IMAP as it was designed for use with webmail and multiple computers/devices simultaneously. An App Password is needed to make these settings work.

Note: This version of Windows Mail only ran on Windows Vista. This operating system is no longer receiving support or security updates from Microsoft. We recommend that you consider updating your operating system.

  1. Go to the Rogers Member Centre.
  2. Sign in with the Rogers Yahoo! Email address you’re creating the password for.
  3. Click Account Information. Note, if you are following these steps on a mobile device click the menu for this option.
  4. Select Authorized Applications.

  5. Enter the name you wish to appear in the From field when sending an email in the Display Name, and then click Next.
  6. Enter the full Rogers email address in the email address field, then click Next.
  7. In the Set up email servers, enter the following:
    • Incoming email server type: choose IMAP.
    • Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Outgoing email server (SMTP) name: smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • Outgoing server requires authentication – box should be checked.
  8. Click Next.
  9. In the Internet Mail Logon screen, enter the following information:
    • Email username: full Rogers email address.
    • Password: the App Password you created.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Click Finish.
  12. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Modify an existing IMAP account to use Rogers Yahoo! email servers

  1. Click Tools.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. Select the account you wish to modify and click Properties.
  4. Click Servers and check the following:
    • Incoming mail (IMAP): imap.broadband.rogers.com or imap.nl.rogers.com
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.broadband.rogers.com or smtp.nl.rogers.com
    • Email username: full Rogers email address
    • Password: the App Password you created.
    • My server requires authentication – box should be checked.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Make sure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is checked, then click OK.
  7. Click Advanced, and then check the following:
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
    • Incoming mail (IMAP): 993
    • The This server requires a secure connection (SSL) boxes should be checked
  8. Click OK, and then Apply.
  9. Send a test email to make sure the settings are correct and the email is working.

Create an App Password in the Rogers Member Centre

  1. Go to the Rogers Member Centre sign-in page.
  2. Enter the Rogers Yahoo! email address and password for the account you’d like to create an app password for, then select Next.
  3. Mobile: Select the menu icon in the top-left corner, then select Account Information.
    Desktop: Select Account Information in the top-right of your browser window.
  4. Select Authorized Applications.
  5. In the Name your password field, label your app password with the name of the email program it’s for, then select Generate. A pop-up containing a randomly generated app password will appear.
  6. Write down the password or copy it to your clipboard.
  7. Enter this password during your email set-up when prompted. When finished, select Done in the pop-up.
