Bypass Pattern Lock on your Android phone

The following steps explain how to bypass the device pattern lock if the password is forgotten on Android smartphones.

  1. Tap Forgot pattern?
    • This option will only show up when an incorrect pattern lock has been entered several times.
  2. Enter your Gmail username and password, tap Sign in.
    • This unless method will only work if the Gmail account is associated to the smartphone.
    • If you don’t remember the password, you can use the forgot password feature from the Gmail website to recover the password.
    • If this step fails, proceed to the next step.
  3. A button hard reset can be performed on most Android devices.
    • Performing a reset will delete all user content and settings.

Bypass the Pattern Lock on Sony Xperia Smartphones

The following steps explain how to factory reset or bypass the pattern lock for Sony Xperia smartphones.

Note: Performing these steps will erase all your information on the device. Active internet access is required to complete this process.

  1. Click here to download and install Sony PC Companion.
  2. Connect your smartphone to the computer.
  3. Launch the PC Company software.
  4. Click Check for Updates.
  5. PC Companion will determine if updates are available.
    • If updates are available, click Upgrade.
    • If device is up to date, click Repair Phone.
  6. The phone software update will launch, click Next.
  7. PC Companion will prompt to save data, click Continue.
  8. PC Companion will prompt that personal data will be lost, place a checkmark in checkbox to accept. Click Next.
  9. The software update or repair will begin.
    • Follow the onscreen instructions to prepare your device for the update.
  10. Once the update has finished, click Next.
  11. Click Finish and disconnect your device from the computer.
