Unable to Connect to WiFi Network with Apple Devices

Symptom

  • Unable to connect to the WiFi network with your Apple iPhone or iPad.

Cause

  • iPhone or iPad has defective WiFi hardware
  • Software glitch with the WiFi profile
  • Issue with the internet connection or router

Resolution

Note: It is recommended to determine if the internet connection is active by testing on a computer within the same WiFi network. If it is not responding, the issue is should be reported to your internet service provided for further assistance.

  1. Ensure you’re within range of the WiFi signal.
  2. Turn WiFi off on the device, wait a few seconds and toggle it back on.
    • Test the internet connection by launching a website in Safari, if issue persist proceed to the next step.
  3. Delete the WiFi profile. Ensure you know the WiFi password before deletion.
    • Click Settings.
    • Select WiFi.
    • Select your WiFi network.
    • Select Forget this Network.
  4. Add the WiFi profile back.
    • Test the internet connection by launching a website in Safari, if issue persist proceed to the next step.
  5. Reset the network settings.
    • Note: this will delete all saved WiFi profiles and passwords, but will NOT delete user content.
    • Click Settings.
    • Select General.
    • Select Reset.
    • Select Reset Network Settings.
      • Your device will automatically restart.
  6. Turn on and add the WiFi profile back.
    • Test the internet connection by launching a website in Safari, if issue persist proceed to the next step.
  7. Test another wireless device on the same WiFi network to determine if the fault is with the WiFi router.
    • If verified that the WiFi connection is active and stable proceed to the next step.
  8. Test your Apple device on another WiFi network to determine if the WiFi on the device is defective.
  9. If your WiFi network is working fine, and don’t have another WiFi network to test, backup and restore your Apple device back to factory default settings.
    • Test the internet connection by launching a website in Safari, if issue persist proceed to the next step.
  10. Report the issue to Wireless Technical Support for further assistance.
