How to fast charge your iPhone X

Power up quickly, with or without a wired connection

As a business owner, you can’t afford to have your smartphone battery die in the middle of an important task or to lose precious time waiting for it to recharge. Thankfully, Apple's new iPhone X has fast-charging capability, but you’ll need to purchase a couple of key accessories first. Here are two ways to get your device charged quickly.

Wired fast charging

Requires: a USB-C to Lightning cable, and a 29W USB-C power adapter.

1. Plug the adapter into an electrical outlet, and plug the cable into both the adapter and your phone.

2. You'll see a 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes. This is the fastest possible way to charge your iPhone X.

(Note: you can also use Apple's standard 12W brick, which comes with other Apple products – such as laptops – and can be purchased separately, but the jump in charging speed won't be as dramatic.)

Wireless fast charging

Requires: a wireless charger that supports charging at up to 7.5W.

1. Update your device to iOS 11.2 (or later) to enable the wireless fast-charging feature.

2. Plug the wireless charger in, place your phone on it and let it charge. You'll see a noticeable increase in charging speed, though not equivalent to the wired fast-charging method.
